Agreement
By using learn.elamaba.org, you agree to these terms. ኤላም የትምህርት ማዕከል is a ministry of መካነ ራማ ቅዱስ ገብርኤል ቤተ ክርስቲያን (Mekane Rama St. Gabriel Church), a nonprofit based in Virginia, USA. If you don't agree, please don't use the site — the free, no-account practice pages remain available to read about without creating anything.
What Elam is
A free platform for practicing and reviewing Orthodox teaching — Scripture commentary, Ge'ez, chant and doctrine. It is a supplement to teaching, not a replacement for it: it does not stand in for your priest, deacon, teacher, or the Church's own instruction and sacraments.
Accounts
Practicing publicly available material never requires an account. An account is needed only for synced progress, classes, assignments and teacher feedback. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in secure. For any learner under 13, an account is created by, or with the direct involvement of, a parent, guardian or teacher.
Acceptable use
- Don't scrape, bulk-download, or otherwise extract the question bank or course content outside normal use of the site.
- Don't impersonate another person, or misuse a teacher, reviewer or admin role you've been given.
- Don't harass or abuse another learner, teacher or reviewer, including through the friend-challenge feature.
- Don't upload or submit content you don't have the right to share, or that misrepresents Church teaching.
Content and review
Readings, questions and tests submitted by a teacher may, at the discretion of Elam's reviewers, be shared privately within a church or organization, or promoted into the platform's public library after doctrinal review. Submitting content grants Elam a license to host, display and use it for this teaching purpose; the teacher or church that wrote it keeps authorship. Your own account and progress data belong to you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
No warranty
Content is offered as-is to support learning. Teachers and reviewers work to keep it accurate, but Elam does not guarantee it is free of error, and it is not a substitute for the guidance of your priest, deacon, or teacher on matters of faith and practice.
Suspension
We may suspend or remove access for anyone who violates these terms, particularly where it endangers another user — especially a child — or misuses teacher, reviewer or admin access.
Donations
A donation link on this site leads to elamaba.org's own donation page. This platform does not process payments itself.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the effective date above will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the update.
